I truly think I’ve been replaced. Who knew. My daughter’s new love is her horse, Riley. I know she loves me, but that attention I had before, gone. Unless of course, it’s can you help me bathe Riley, or can you get Riley ready for me to ride. I suppose it’s better than nothin’, but I really want my daughter back. I’m kind of hoping it’s just a stage. Let’s hope, right? Or at least that she realizes that her daddy misses her.

Riley, daddy? Riley, daddy? Hoping she chooses the daddy part soon.

I said yes. Can you believe it? My daughter now wears the shirt “my daddy said yes”. Aw, how cute is that. I figured why not, what’s one more “pet” - we got a HORSE. Ok, so a horse is not a pet, it is a family member (according to my daughter). So, we now breathe, live, eat, smell like horses :) Kidding, but yes it does take up most of our time. I didn’t realize how much time until we got her. She is beautiful. A paint horse. She’s only 15 hands, but perfect size for wife and daughter. Oh, lucky me.

Let’s talk about pets.

Ok, so now that I’m boring and normal. I’m going to talk about pets. There is such thing as TOO MANY pets. We have, listen, 12 chickens (pets), 2 bunnies, 4 cats, 1 indoor kitty, 3 dogs and about a million squirrels. When we want to go somewhere, we have to find someone to take care of all of them. It rather sucks. And, no I don’t find the person, my wife does. That’s because she does everything, and I do nothing - um, yeah right. Can you tell we’re fighting about it, well, we are. And, NO we are NOT getting that horse. NO NO NO.

Can you say “normal”. Well, we’re all just fine and now I’ll start my blogging. My daughter tells me not to be so personal, well, I thought that was what this was all about. She says there is such thing as saying too much. OK, I’ve been told. No more, my daughter is back to ‘normal’, my life is in shambles, everyone hates eachother. I’m going to be just your normal Joe, posting about regular stuff. (BORING)

Things are settling down for all of us. We all seem to be on the right track. Which makes me happy. You can go with the old saying, ‘if Momma ain’t happy, no one is happy’. We’re all getting along great and my daughter is very close to being back to ‘normal’ and doing everything. That will be another milestone and a relief…

Well, my girl walked the walk and will be officially graduating sometime in the near future when she completes her classes. Phew, that’s over. (almost) BUT, my wife and I are having a rough time. I’m not sure why, it seems the stress of almost losing a child has paid a toll on all of us. We seem to fight a lot and it sucks. Thus the mixed feelings.

Well, my girl is home and things are going so well. It looks as though she’ll be able to start enjoying life as it was before. Eventually she’ll have to finish her senior year school requirements, so she can actually graduate. But, the school is letting her walk through the ceremony with her class. She was 1st in her class before the accident and will be honored at the graduation. Wow, how proud am I.

More after graduation…

She’s coming home.

My daughter has been through hell and back for a couple of months, and her rehabilitation is going so well, she’ll be able to come home. She will still have to continue with her doctor visits and PT visits, but, at last, she’ll be home again. Thank everyone for all of the kind words and cards of support. You don’t know how much this has meant to our family. Without support, this journey would have been much harder.

I guess it took me a while to get going. I got caught up in family stuff. You won’t believe what happened to us. My daughter got in an accident soon after she helped me get going on blogging. I haven’t been around because it was touch and go for a while. She is now doing much better and will be able to come home in a few months. Some day I will post about her accident, but it is still too emotional for me to get into now.
